TAQA Water Solutions was proud to participate alongside TAQA Group at the 27th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) in Dubai.
As a leading platform showcasing global advancements in sustainability, WETEX provided an opportunity to highlight our commitment to innovation, environmental stewardship and building a more water-resilient future.
Over the three-day event, our team participated from TAQA Group’s stand and contributed to a series of panel discussions addressing key industry topics, including water security, technological innovation and sustainable practices. These sessions encouraged valuable dialogue and knowledge exchange among industry leaders and experts.
Our participation also attracted significant media engagement. Eng. Ahmed Al Shamsi, CEO of TAQA Water Solutions, and Eng. Mohamed Al Jneibi, Business Resilience Director, shared insights with leading media outlets, including CNBC Arabia, Al Bayan and others, highlighting TAQA Water Solutions’ strategic vision and commitment to delivering sustainable, secure and affordable water solutions.
In an interview with WAM, Eng. Ahmed Al Shamsi highlighted Abu Dhabi’s ambitions for sustainable water use, stating:
“Abu Dhabi is moving towards reusing 100% of treated water by the end of 2026, a pioneering step that strengthens the UAE’s position in water resource management and sustainability.”
Further highlighting progress in this area, Eng. Mohamed Al Jneibi told Al Bayan:
“TAQA Water Solutions has achieved remarkable progress in sustainability by reusing approximately 80% of its treated water, a percentage that exceeds the rates recorded in many other countries.”
As part of the WETEX programme, Eng. Ahmad Abu Yousef delivered a presentation titled “Towards Net Zero in Wastewater Collection and Treatment in Abu Dhabi,” highlighting TAQA Water Solutions’ approach to reducing emissions and supporting carbon neutrality across the wastewater sector.
Dr. Titia also moderated the session “Delivering Water and Energy Access for a Net-Zero Future,” facilitating discussions among key stakeholders on advancing sustainability goals.
Beyond the sessions, WETEX provided valuable opportunities to strengthen existing partnerships and establish new collaborations. Across our engagements, we also highlighted the importance of business continuity and resilience in responding to evolving environmental and economic challenges.
