Eng. Ahmed Al Shamsi

Eng. Ahmad Al Shamsi, a distinguished leader with over 20 years of experience, serves as the CEO of TAQA Water Solution and a pioneer in providing sustainable solutions for water security and circularity.

Under his guidance, the company, formerly known as Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company (ADSSC), underwent a repositioning with the aim to revolutionise the global water industry by empowering communities with impactful and sustainable water solutions.

Eng. Al Shamsi has held influential roles in organizations such as ADNOC Distribution and Borouge, contributing significantly to their success. He is the Chairman of UPP and an Executive Committee Member of the World Utilities Congress. He has also served on the board of Ruwais Fertilizer Industries and the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association’s Supply Chain Committee. 

Eng. Al Shamsi holds a Master’s degree in Quality Management from the University of Wollongong, a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tulsa, and a Leadership Excellence certificate from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD).

Eng. Abdul Wahab Sharif

Eng. Abdulwahab Sharif is the Chief Business Development Officer at TAQA Water Solutions, where he concurrently serves as the Chairman of Al Etihad Biwater Waste Water Company PJSC and as a Director on the board of Al Wathba Veolia Besix Waste Water-PJSC. In his capacity at SWS, he leads strategic business development initiatives and spearheads the company's expansion efforts on both domestic and international fronts. 


At TAQA Water Solutions, Eng. Abdulwahab Sharif has held key roles, beginning as the Chief Commercial Officer. In this capacity, he oversaw Customer Service & Experience, Marketing & Communication, Sustainability, and Business Operations. 


Eng. Sharif has had a distinguished career, holding significant positions at Borouge (ADNOC), a global petrochemical company. Notably, he served as Vice President of Packaging for the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, where he managed extensive sales, marketing, and business development efforts across these regions. Prior to this, he spent six years in Singapore, directing crucial operations in sales, marketing, and supply chain management. His expertise led him to the role of Vice President of Southeast Asia and Australasia, driving Borouge's strategic growth initiatives and fostering opportunities throughout the value chain.


Earlier, as Vice President of Regional Supply Chain for Asia South, Eng. Sharif led transformative projects across 14 countries, boosting operational efficiencies and fostering a culture of excellence. His leadership was pivotal to the successful execution of Borouge 4, a multi-billion-dollar project that significantly expanded global petrochemical production capacity.


Beyond his corporate achievements, Eng. Sharif represented Borouge in the UAE Singapore Business Council (UAESBC), promoting bilateral trade and industry under the Singapore-UAE Comprehensive Partnership (SUCP). His role was critical during significant diplomatic events, including the official visit of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in February 2019.


Eng. Abdulwahab Sharif holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Petroleum Institute, Abu Dhabi, UAE. His extensive experience, diverse skills, and strategic vision continue to drive sustainable growth and development across global industries

Dr. Nader Assad Bin Taher

Chief Asset Management & Capital Projects Officer

Dr. Nader has over 25 years of experience in infrastructure and construction, specializing in asset management, operations, and capital project delivery. 


Since joining TAQA Water Solutions, he has held key leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer (2021) and Executive Director of Asset Management (2014), driving digital transformation, organizational restructuring, and strategic transformation of CAPEX and procurement programs aligned with global best practices.


He represents TAQA Water Solutions in strategic committees shaping long-term investment strategies, sustainability objectives, and operational resilience. In addition, he serves on the boards of Al Wathba Veolia Besix Wastewater Company and Al Etihad Biwater Wastewater Company. Previously, he held senior roles at Abu Dhabi City Municipality and National Petroleum Construction Company.


Dr. Nader holds a Doctor of Business Administration, two master’s degrees in Urban & Regional Planning and Quality Management, and a Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering.

Dr. Sultan Jaber Al Shareef

Dr. Sultan has over 30 years of experience in infrastructure and construction, with expertise in operations, maintenance, and capital project delivery. 


Since joining TAQA Water Solutions, he has held key leadership roles, including Acting Chief Customer Services and Business Performance Officer (2023) and Executive Director of Operations and Maintenance (2021). He has driven major initiatives in operational resilience, business continuity, and governance frameworks aligned with international standards.


He actively represents TAQA Water Solutions in strategic committees and previously served in senior roles at Abu Dhabi City Municipality, managing complex operation of wastewater infrastructure.


Dr. Sultan holds a Doctorate in Civil Law, two master’s degrees in Business Administration and Private Law, a bachelor’s degree in Law, and a Diploma in Construction Engineering.

Philippe Da Costa

Philippe Da Costa brings extensive experience leading finance functions across the telecommunications and utilities sectors. He has held senior strategic and financial leadership positions in multiple regions, including Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Notably, he spent eight years with Veolia, where he contributed significantly to the company's international growth and performance.
At TAQA Water Solutions, Da Costa initially led and transformed the Finance Department, enhancing its structure and capabilities. Since March 2025, he has assumed leadership of the Strategy Division, focusing on business transformation, investment management, and digital transformation.


With his proven track record in both financial stewardship and strategic planning, Philippe continues to drive TAQA Water Solutions' ambitious growth agenda whilst ensuring sustainable value creation for all stakeholders.

Adrian Kershaw

A highly commercial ACA with financial, strategic and commercial experience gained in both established entities and growing businesses undergoing major transformation.

He held several financial positions in Scotland before moving to the UAE, where he became the CFO of Tabreed, a UAE-based developer of world-class, environment-friendly district cooling solutions, for five years in 2010.   Following other senior leadership roles in Emirates Global Aluminum, the world’s largest ‘premium aluminum’ producer and the biggest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside oil and gas and ADNOC,  Adrian Joined TAQA in July 2020 where he supported the integration of finance post the merger with AD Power and was more recently the CFO of AADC

Since 2023, he has been the Chief Financial Officer at TAQA Water Solutions, a leading company specializing in sustainable water solutions to transform one of our most valuable natural resources, contribute to sustainable economic development, and improve the quality of life. Saeed Thani Al Mehairi is a seasoned HR leader with a distinguished record of driving organizational effectiveness and people-focused strategies. As Director of People Relations & Administration (Abu Dhabi), he has demonstrated exceptional leadership in strengthening governance and optimizing operations across People Relations, General Services and Corporate Security within the Abu Dhabi Region.

He is widely recognized for his ability to align people practices with business objectives, enhance employee experience, and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.


Saeed holds a Master’s Degree in International Business Management from the University of Wollongong, Australia, and is a SHRM-certified HR professional, underscoring his commitment to professional excellence and continuous growth.

Ali Hasan Al Zaabi

Al Hasan Al Zaabi brings over 16 years of progressive experience in the utilities sector in Abu Dhabi, with strong expertise in Corporate Strategy, Performance Management, Excellence and strategic partnerships and government relations supporting strategic plans.

He has successfully led strategic transformation and cost optimization programs and driven integration, acquisitions, and performance frameworks that enhanced organizational efficiency and governance.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and has completed various executive development and leadership programs supporting his strategic and performance management expertise.

Eng. Hamoud Al Jaberi

Hamoud Al Jaberi is an accomplished procurement and contracts professional with over 11 years of experience, including a tenure as Acting Procurement Director. 


He has successfully led multiple committees, including the Technical Committee, contributed to internal audits and enhanced procurement governance by revising the Standard Operating Policy and Procedures for the Supply Department in line with EC requirements.


He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from Abu Dhabi’s Higher Colleges of Technology (2008–2013) and has pursued professional development through CIPS preparation (2019).


Since joining in 2014, he has progressed from the Contract Team to Sourcing & Purchasing Manager, served as Acting Procurement Director, and currently holds the position of Contract Manager.

Robert Bodnar

Mr. Robert Bodnar is the General Counsel of TAQA Water Solutions and currently oversees the Legal, Governance and Compliance Department as well as the Regulatory Affairs Department of TAQA Water Solutions.

He has over 18 years of professional experience in various international roles focusing on construction, project development, financing, M&A, governance and compliance matters with a particular focus on international projects in the energy and infrastructure industry.

He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta, Canada and a Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia, Canada.

Mr. Sultan Khouri

Audit Executive Director

Mr. Sultan Khouri manages the Internal Audit function, reporting to the Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee of the ENEC Board of Directors. His role is to provide independent, objective assurance and advisory activities to senior management and the Board of Directors, evaluating and recommending improvements to the effectiveness of activities including risk management, internal control, and governance processes as well as the Anti-Fraud Program.

He has over 25 years of professional experience in various roles including Finance, Enterprise Risk Management Compliance, and Internal Audit. Before joining TAQA Water Solutions, he was the Enterprise Internal Audit Executive Director at Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC). He began his career with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).

In addition to his responsibilities at TAQA Water Solutions, Mr. Khouri serves on several Board and Board Committees for ADQ and the Government of Abu Dhabi’s entities. He is also the Secretary of the SWS’s Audit & Risk Committee.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from UAE University and an Executive Master’s in Business Administration & Project Management from AUS.

Eng. Nasser Al Shamsi

Nasser Al Shamsi is a seasoned HSE leader with over 11 years of experience and has proven record of driving health, safety, and environmental excellence across complex operations.


He has led the development and implementation of HSE programs, risk management frameworks, and compliance initiatives, fostering a strong safety culture and achieving award-winning results, including ROSPA 2023.


He holds a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Abu Dhabi University, is a Class A OSHAD Practitioner, and a Specialist Member of the IIRSM. In addition, he possesses multiple professional certifications, including ISO Lead Auditor credentials in OH&S, Environmental, Energy, and Quality Management Systems, and is currently pursuing NEBOSH International General and Environmental Certificates to further enhance his expertise.
